This Kenilworth estate was first planted at the turn of the century by an English pioneer who named the estate Kenilworth after the Kenilworth Castle in England. Kenilworth estate is part of the Nuwara Eliya district where the plantation overlooks the Kelani Ganga river which originates in the Adam’s Peak mountain which has a rock formation near the summit that, according to Buddhist tradition, is the footprints of the Buddha. Known around the world for it's bold, full bodied flavour Kenilworth tea is generally considered to be one of the highest quality Ceylon teas. The estate receives a higher than average rainfall for the region due to it's unique position where it intersects with both the South West and North East monsoons.Brew
