What Is Orange Pekoe
Orange Pekoe is one of the most famous terms in the tea world. The word orange doesn't refer to the colour or fruit instead Orange Pekoe refers to a grading system in which tea leaves are separated by the size of the leaf. Orange Pekoe as a grade refers to the whole leaf and tip. The word orange has been taken from the Dutch House of Orange-Nassau who were associated with the Dutch East India Company, the original tea company who pioneered the importing of tea throughout Europe.

Ceylon Tea
Ceylon is the former British colonial name for the island of Sri Lanka where tea has been grown for more than 150 years. All tea grown in Sri Lanka is referred to as Ceylon tea regardless of which region it was grown in.
Ruhana and Sabaraganuwa
The low growing regions of Ruhuna and Sabaragamuwa are hot and humid with constant rainfall throughout the year and the tea plants produce a regular crop of new leaves. The majority of the teas grown in these regions are processed as Orange Pekoes (OP) and Flowery Orange Pekoes (FOP).
Kandy
Before Colombo became the capital of the island the town of The ancient town of Kandy, once the island’s capital before Colombo took over that role, nestles in a valley on the western side of the Central Highlands. A beautiful and privileged place blessed with a generous nature.
Dimbula, Uva, Uda Pussellawa and Nuwara Eliya
Mid grown teas from the Kandy region are known for their medium body, brisk but light taste and their bright burgundy colour. While the peak growing season is through spring these tea plants produce new leaves all year round, due to experiencing minimal impact from monsoonal weather
